In order to
speed the distribution of information, Nevada Wing has established a number
of mail lists to allow information to be distributed to targeted groups of
people. A mail list can be established for an organization (such as
your squadron) or a special interest group (such as all pilots or cadets).
Individuals can sign up for mail lists to receive emails regarding the
specific subject of the list.
At the
present time, the following email lists have been established:
|
Name of List |
Description |
|
NVHQ |
Wing staff
and commanders (restricted) |
|
NV-OPS |
Check pilots
(restricted) |
|
NCS |
Nellis Cadet
Squadron |
|
NV-CADETS |
Nevada Wing
Cadets |
Mail lists designated as "restricted" require
approval of the list owner to join. You may sign up for restricted
lists and this will generate a request to the list owner which may be
approved or not. Anyone can sign up for mail
lists which are not "restricted."

The tool
below can be used to sign up for mail lists.
Enter your first and last name, exactly as they are shown on your CAP ID
card, then your email address. Finally, select the list. The
tool may be used to subscribe or to unsubscribe.
You will
receive up to four emails from "Majordomo@glr.cap.gov."
The purpose of these emails is to advise you of the progress of your
subscription or unsubscription.
One email is
particularly important -- a confirmation email to which you must reply.
There are literally thousands of mail lists
available on the web, and a malicious "friend" could sign you up for more
email than you could digest. The confirmation email comes to your
mailbox with an approval code. You must send this approval code back
to Majordomo@glr.cap.gov, which
says "I got my first email, it is really me, and I want to receive more."
If this reply is not sent back, you are not added to the list. Copy
the approval code exactly, or even better, cut and paste it into a reply
email.
If you do not
see this approval email, it may be because your spam filter is blocking mail
from Majordomo@glr.cap.gov.
Adjust your spam filter, generally by adding this address to your address
list.

The CAP National Headquarters Services web pages provide access to the information and processes
needed to conduct day-to-day CAP missions and business. In order to protect official data and limit who can add, change, and delete data, the new eServices registration and logon procedure was created to control who can see, use, and manipulate CAP corporate data.
Entry into the eServices section requires a User Name or CAPID
and password. To obtain these you must register by selecting the ”Member
Registration” button found on the e-service page. Contact your unit web
security administrator if you need access to specific applications.
Registration The system requires a valid e-mail address from each person requesting access. (E-mail boxes are free so if you don’t have one, obtain one from your Internet service provider or from the NV Wing.) An e-mail message will be automatically sent to you providing you with your computer-generated User Name (this is not the CAPID) and password. No one but you will receive this password and it is your responsibility to protect your password and the access it provides to the information and processes to which you are being given permissions.
