Ongoing - Orientation Flights
Special arrangements can be made for
early weekday morning (7:00 a.m.) glider orientation flights at Jean
airport. You must provide your own transportation to/from Jean airport.
Jean airport is approximately 40 miles south of Nellis AFB on
Interstate 15.
Powered orientation flights can
also be scheduled out of North Last Vegas airport. Flights must be arranged at least 3 days prior with the
pilot.

NV Wing Conference, Nellis Air Force Base
CAP's annual wing-wide conference,
training and social event. Additional information and registration on the

5 December -
CAP Anniversary Ball, Nellis Air Force Base
For several years, southern Nevada has had a Banquet &
Military Ball in honor of CAP's Anniversary. This year, the Ball will be
held in conjunction with the Wing Conference.
6 December -
Las Vegas Marathon, Near Downtown Vegas
Once again, we have been asked to assist KLAS TV at 'Water
Station 8" during the Las Vegas Marathon. Arrive at 0445. The event
will conclude between 0900-1000. Please wear complete BDU's or civilian
clothes if you do not have full BDU's.

Wreaths Across America, Boulder City
Cadets and Officers are needed to support the nationwide
Wreaths Across America ceremony. Our location is at the Veterans Cemetery
in Boulder City, NV. Additional information will be announced at squadron
meetings.
23-24 January -
Training Leaders of Cadets, Nellis AFB
Training Leaders of Cadets is the premiere venue for Cadet
Programs Officers to learn how to become better mentors of cadets and more
effective managers of cadet squadrons. The 2-day course is a component of the
Cadet Programs Officer Specialty Track in the Senior Member Professional
Development Program. We are honored to have Curt LaFond, National Headquarters
Cadet Programs Directorate, facilitating part of this course. All Officers
and Sponsor Members are highly encouraged to attend this course! More
information forthcoming.
5-7 February -
NV Wing Color Guard Competition, S. Nevada
Color Guard teams from across Nevada Wing will be competing
for the title of Wing Champions. Nellis Composite Squadron will have a team
competing. Please come cheer on our team! Location and time
are TDB.
17-24 July -
Nevada Wing Encampment, Nellis AFB
Summer encampment is a requirement for all cadets prior to
earning the Mitchell Award. In 2010, Nevada Wing will be hosting our own
encampment at Nellis Air Force Base.
